I’ve been digging into some old-school stuff lately and found some 1890s publications discussing twin flames!
This totally debunks the idea that twin flames are just some new internet trend. It’s crazy to think they were dealing with separation back then when they didn’t have social media or phones to keep in touch with communities like this to understand what was going on. LOL, imagine Victorian peeps struggling with runner/chaser dynamics – talk about a different era of ghosting!
I know the idea goes way back to even before Plato, but i just like seeing old publications talk about twin flames like this.
Over 100 years ago they documented twin souls meet on Earth but don’t always get married… There’s even a reference to the runner not being able to understand the connection.
It feels like they really did understand it… without all the resources and tools we have today.
I see people come in talking about the TFU documentary and saying they ‘invented’ twin flames.
Yet here’s a document over a century old talking about the exact same thing with the same terminology. I know older texts make references but with different terminology. Fantastic find.
Once you’ve felt these emotions, you know this isn’t something that comes from social media but it’s nice to have something to point to for people who just don’t get it.
I skimmed through some of these (they are several hundred pages). It is interesting they talk about a lot of the same things we do, but I wonder if there is some forgotten knowledge we could glean from this old text.
Maybe advice that helps twin flames that we’ve forgotten.
I read into the history of Twin Flames a while ago, and it went back a lot older than this, but there does seem to be a blank gap in history where it doesn’t get mentioned; I wonder why.
Was Plato the oldest reference? I know there are some Bible verses that could be read as references to TFs as well.
Speaking of Hollywood… in the 20th Century, people started to use the term “soulmate” or “kindred spirit,” and now a lot of people think your twin flame is just a synonym for soulmate. I wonder if there was more documentation, would it be better understood?
Now we have a better way to document and share the experience… will future generations (or our future selves) find the journey easier.
