Twin Flame Poetry

I thought it might be nice to have a place to collect poetry that makes you think of the twin flame journey (or maybe your journey in particular).

Similar to our threads on twin flame movies or songs. I have been reading more poetry lately and I can see this helping someone.

(I also started another thread for your own poetry and artwork here but this is a little different).

I’ll get us started with one I saw recently:

I missed you quietly today. So quietly that no one noticed.

I missed you as I climbed out of bed and as I brushed my teeth; when I waited at the lights on the drive into work and as I heard the rain outside my window.

I missed you as I ordered lunch and as I kicked off my shoes when I got home; as I switched off the lights and climbed into bed for the night.

I missed you without tears or noise or fanfare. But oh how I felt it.

I felt it in the morning, at lunchtime, in the evening and at night. I felt it as I woke, as I waited, as I worked. I felt it at home, on the road, in the light, in the dark, in the rain.

I felt it in every one of those moments, each one sitting heavier and heavier as the weight of me missing you kept growing and growing.

Yes, I missed you so quietly today.

But I felt it so loudly.

Union - Rumi

Two forms, one light;
two selves, one soul;
Together we are forevers.

Do Not Love Half Lovers by Khalil Gibran

Do not love half lovers

Do not entertain half friends

Do not indulge in works of the half talented

Do not live half a life

and do not die a half death

If you choose silence, then be silent

When you speak, do so until you are finished

Do not silence yourself to say something

And do not speak to be silent

If you accept, then express it bluntly

Do not mask it

If you refuse then be clear about it

for an ambiguous refusal is but a weak acceptance

Do not accept half a solution

Do not believe half truths

Do not dream half a dream

Do not fantasize about half hopes

Half a drink will not quench your thirst

Half a meal will not satiate your hunger

Half the way will get you no where

Half an idea will bear you no results

Your other half is not the one you love

It is you in another time yet in the same space

It is you when you are not

Half a life is a life you didn’t live,

A word you have not said

A smile you postponed

A love you have not had

A friendship you did not know

To reach and not arrive

Work and not work

Attend only to be absent

What makes you a stranger to them closest to you

and they strangers to you

The half is a mere moment of inability

but you are able for you are not half a being

You are a whole that exists to live a life not half a life

There’s a quote from Rumi.
It says something like
" i can’t sleep , so i make music "
It’s really beautiful. Hopefully you can find it online.

Another by Kahlil Gibrancom called Beloved is my favorite.

Have you not seen my Soul?

It is here, in your eyes,

Mirrored in your gaze.

It is here, in your heart,

Dwelling in your breath.

It is not separate from you,

Nor are you separate from it.

“Keeping Quiet” by Pablo Neruda

Now we will count to twelve

and we will all keep still

for once on the face of the earth,

let’s not speak in any language;

let’s stop for a second,

and not move our arms so much.

It would be an exotic moment

without rush, without engines;

we would all be together

in a sudden strangeness.

Fishermen in the cold sea

would not harm whales

and the man gathering salt

would look at his hurt hands.

Those who prepare green wars,

wars with gas, wars with fire,

victories with no survivors,

would put on clean clothes

and walk about with their brothers

in the shade, doing nothing.

What I want should not be confused

with total inactivity.

Life is what it is about;

I want no truck with death.

If we were not so single-minded

about keeping our lives moving,

and for once could do nothing,

perhaps a huge silence

might interrupt this sadness

of never understanding ourselves

and of threatening ourselves with death.

Perhaps the earth can teach us

as when everything seems dead

and later proves to be alive.

Now I’ll count up to twelve

and you keep quiet and I will go.

I love these. Thank you so much for sharing. Poetry speaks to my heart and my DM is a poet so I guess I would have to say anything from him.

Song of the Soul (Rabindranath Tagore)

In the depth of my soul there is

A wordless song - a song that lives

In the seed of my heart.

It refuses to melt with ink on

Parchment; it engulfs my affection

In a transparent cloak and flows,

But not upon my lips.

How can I sigh it? I fear it may

Mingle with earthly ether;

To whom shall I sing it? It dwells

In the house of my soul, in fear of

Harsh ears.

When I look into my inner eyes

I see the shadow of its shadow;

When I touch my fingertips

I feel its vibrations.

The deeds of my hands heed its

Presence as a lake must reflect

The glittering stars; my tears

Reveal it, as bright drops of dew

Reveal the secret of a withering rose.

It is a song composed by contemplation,

And published by silence,

And shunned by clamor,

And folded by truth,

And repeated by dreams,

And understood by love,

And hidden by awakening,

And sung by the soul.

It is the song of love;

What Cain or Esau could sing it?

It is more fragrant than jasmine;

What voice could enslave it?

It is heartbound, as a virgin’s secret;

What string could quiver it?

Who dares unite the roar of the sea

And the singing of the nightingale?

Who dares compare the shrieking tempest

To the sigh of an infant?

Who dares speak aloud the words

Intended for the heart to speak?

What human dares sing in voice

The song of God?

The Awakening - Rumi

In the early dawn of happiness

you gave me three kisses

so that I would wake up

to this moment of love

I tried to remember in my heart

what I’d dreamt about

during the night

before I became aware

of this morning

of life

I found my dreams

but the moon took me away.

It lifted me up to the firmament

and suspended me there.

I saw how my heart had fallen

on your path

singing a song

OMG, that poem hit me right in the feels! TBH, it perfectly captures those quiet moments when you’re missing your TF but just going through the motions of daily life. “The Prophet” by Kahlil Gibran has some amazing TF vibes too, especially the part about love. LOL, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve reread that book during separation!

Wow, this poem really resonates with me. My DM is a musician, and I feel like this captures how he expresses his deepest emotions through his art. There’s something so profound about a song that lives in the heart but can’t be fully expressed in words.

The line about it being ‘understood by love’ especially hits home. No matter the distance between us, that wordless song keeps playing.

Beautiful poems. Poetry really captures those quiet moments of longing we all experience on this journey. I’ve felt that same bittersweet ache, missing my twin in the small everyday moments. It’s comforting to know we’re not alone in those feelings. Thank you for starting this thread to share poetry that speaks to the twin flame experience - I look forward to seeing what others contribute.
